Recommendations after Wisdom Surgery: 1. Soft diet: Shredded chicken, ground meat, fish, vegetables, soups, porridge (foods at room temperature and without dairy products). 2. It is important that you take properly formulated medications as they will reduce inflammation, can suppress pain, and prevent the risk of infection. 3. Rest, physical activity can cause pain. 4. It is better that you are in a semi-sitting position since if you lie down, the force of gravity causes inflammation to increase. 5. Apply cold compresses (gel or ice) below and in front of the ears (mandibular angle), for 48 hours, intermittently (8 to 10 minutes). The cold produces vasoconstriction which prevents further inflammation. 6. After 48 hours you can apply warm water or calendula cloths. 7. Don't forget to brush your teeth 3 times a day. 8. Do not rinse with alcohol for the first 7 days. 9. No smoking. Cigarette smoke can destroy the blood clotting process. 10. Do not consume alcoholic beverages. 11. Do not limit the mouth opening, since the tissues are healing and you must make normal jaw movements. 12. Do not expose yourself to the sun, since high temperatures can cause inflammation and help the infectious process. 13. Don't forget to attend your control appointment.
