How long does orthodontic treatment last?
The duration depends on the magnitude of the malocclusion or bite alteration of each patient, the age, gender, race, length of the roots to be moved and the type or quality of bone that the patient has. Also within the duration of each patient, the level or degree of collaboration with the care of the appliances and the consecutive fulfillment of orthodontic appointments depends.
At what age should the first consultation be made?
The first consultation should be made with the general dentist from approximately 3 years of age since at that age the temporary dentition has been completed and the patient's maxillofacial growth pattern can be visualized and whether or not there is the possibility of generating a malocclusion by observing to the parents their hereditary pattern.
